A Message from the Principal
Dear Families,
We had a wonderful turnout at our recent Kite Night! It was so great to see families and students enjoying the evening together, celebrating our school community. Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make the event such a success.
Looking ahead, we are excited to invite you to our upcoming Fall Festival. This will be a fun-filled event for the whole family with games, food, and activities for all ages. We hope to see you there as we continue building connections and creating lasting memories together.
As always, our focus on student safety and growth remains a priority. At our school, we emphasize the importance of being safe, responsible, and respectful both in and out of the classroom. Our staff on the yard support students in learning positive ways to resolve conflicts, and teachers address minor behavior incidents as opportunities to guide social-emotional learning. Together, we are working as a site to decrease major behavior incidents and help students build the skills they need to thrive.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a positive and welcoming place for every child.
Warmly,
Ms. Gutierrez
Principal

Fall Festival Donations and Volunteers
Donations and Volunteers Needed!
Donations: Our annual Fall Festival will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm. To make this event successful, we rely on schoolwide participation and support. Donations are needed and welcomed. The following is a list of donations requested, broken down by grade level:
- Grades 4-8: Bags of candy, fruit snacks, fruit roll-ups, individual bags of pretzels or chips, popcorn balls, etc
- Grades 2-3: Cake boxes or kits for the Cake Walk (boxed cake mix, frosting containers, sprinkles, etc... Please no store or home-made cakes)
- UTK-1: Game prizes (non-food items such as pencils, stickers, small erasers …)
You can begin turning in these items to your student’s teacher now. We will continue collecting donations up until the day of the event on October 24th. Thank you for your support! Every little bit helps make sure this is a fun event for all!
Volunteers: Are you a parent who would like to be an active member in creating a fun-filled event for your child? We need your help! Please follow the link below to fill out a volunteer interest form. https://forms.office.com/r/5npXX5m46X
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
This October, we will continue to focus on Respect. We’re encouraging students to demonstrate respect in all areas of the school, from the classroom to the hallways, cafeteria, recess, and beyond. By showing kindness, listening, using appropriate language, and following directions, we’re focusing on building a positive school environment.
Another friendly reminder, we will be holding our Trimester 1 PBIS dances at the end of the trimester. Students who consistently follow our PBIS expectations throughout the trimester will be invited to attend as a reward for their positive behavior.
Acorn Basketball Games
Basketball season continues this month. Students who attend the games must have their parent/guardian present during the entire game. Students must not be left unattended at these events. Students who arrive without their adult will be denied entry and must be picked up. More information about the district's Acorn League can be found on the district's website. Attendance Matters
Our site's goal is to increase our school wide attendance percentage and decrease chronic absenteeism. To do this, we need your help. You can help us reach our goals by ensuring students attend school each day and arrive to school on time, at 8:00am. If your student has to be absent, please contact the office to excuse the absence or email ajacoby@musd.net.
Students who have perfect attendance will participate in our cinnamon roll breakfast. The grade level with the highest attendance percentage will have a BBQ.
